Height Safety and the Work Health & Safety Act

We have just published our July monthly article on Sourceable.net. The article discusses the introduction of the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 and the implications that this has had for those responsible for workers who are working at heights.

The article discusses the Primary Duty of Care which is placed upon a PCBU (Person Conduction a Business or Undertaking) to ensure that they provide a workplace which is free from hazards which may adversely affect the health, safety and welfare of employees and others. It explains how this duty of care is not transferable and that more than one person can have the same duty at the same time. Each duty holder has a legal obligation to execute their duty irrespective of what the other duty holders may or may not do.

It may all sound a little confusing. However the main point is to ensure that workers are safe when working at heights.
